She lied.
I was crushed under her, engulfed. And I couldn't muster the energy to fight anymore.
Why bother? There is no point trying. No light for me. No reason to fight her. She was right, after all.
Whatever could tolerate me weak, merciful.. was long dead. They'd all judge me.
Hate me if they saw this spineless wretch I am, weeping like a woman.
They came though, urging me to fight. Why? My pet, my political ally, and my victim and one-time would-be killer.
They just wanted me to be their monster. She told me so, and I knew she was right.
And then one I couldn't neatly fit into dismissal spoke.
"I love your weaknesses too, I just hadn't realized you didn't know that."
She lied.

((Poor Iloam... but yeah, Cymoril put a lot of work into twisting Ythgar's feelings toward people who care about him. She was able to present every one of them as someone with a nefarious agenda to Ythgar, until he mistrusted every one of them. Ixinane's motives have been so nebulous that after a night of Iloam defying Cymoril's suggestion, all it took was one person Cymoril hadn't been widdling on to say they cared about Ythgar despite his weaknesses, explicitly, for him to finally snap and realized Cymoril had lied about ALL of them. Which may be why he was trying to be nice to everyone once he regained his self a bit ^.^))
