(( My apologies if some variation on this topic has been posted before, but I don't recall seeing it.
I love reading flagRSP descriptions. I'll even read them for characters I've yet to meet, thanks to flagRSP2 caching information from the data channel and providing a handy browsable list. Some people favor short descriptions, some prefer the really long ones. I've seen lots of interesting explanations of visual details that our avatars fail to depict, but I can't help but notice that terribly few people elaborate on a key sense that the game can't represent in any capacity -- smell!
Because so many players are guilty of this flagrant (or fragrant) omission, I thought I'd pester everyone to post this e-scent-ial information here instead.
So, what do your characters smell like? Do they wear perfume or cologne? If so, what type? Is bathing not an overly big concern of your race? If you're a death knight, have you somehow circumvented the natural funk of undeath, or have you learned to love your odor, like that book in Acherus suggests? All those fancy weapons and armor bits you've acquired, surely some of those have a striking bouquet. Those druid shoulders with the fruit growing on them, they must smell like oranges or lemons or something, right?
Where Lisa is concerned, she generally smells like a potent potpourri of engine oil, cream-filled snack cakes and unwashed socks. ))
Lirriel is fussy about
Lirriel is fussy about cleanliness; it's important as a healer, and she's just...fussy. She makes her own perfume using peacebloom, her favorite flower. I've had that in her flagRSP for awhile now. She'd also likely have the scent of alchemical mixtures to her some days, or antiseptics and other healer-related smells after using her doctoring skills. Hence cleaning up and using the perfume.
That, and adventuring is messy, sweaty, dirty, bloody business when you come down to it. When I'm going over the things in Northrend that have unbalanced and affected Lirriel heavily, I can't help but wonder--what do those plaguepits and fleshworks and stitched together monsters really -smell- like? How about those dusty, vermin-infested ruins adventurers tend to explore? And since smell is a major component to taste and hence eating...well, there are reasons Lirriel's appetite has suffered lately. Festergut, anyone?

Good topic. :)
Being clean is important to this Warlock, just as a matter of preference. She enjoys hot baths in oil-scented water, usually lavendar, hyacinth, orange blosson, or the like. But very very light scents, especially if and when she wears them. As an Alchemist, she'll make her own scented oils from certain flowers she picks. Always oil. Never perfume or cologne (cept for that pesky ingame holiday). :)
Her parents were the same way: clean and smelling clean. So, she was raised that way, and it's preferred.
What, you thought all Warlocks smell like Fel? :) Pfft.
Regarding flag descriptions. For me, if yours reads like a thick book, I probably can't read it.

Cerwis smells like
Cerwis smells like cigarette smoke, apples, and blasting powder. She also showers daily, it's totally that elven blood.
Nediva smells like champagne and strawberries.
Raksasha smells like sweat, sandalwood, rose, and patchouli.
Reginald smells like bitter almond, vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon.
Ysra often smells like outside. Sweaty, dirty, and unwashed. When she does wash up though in those rare occasions she can afford a bath, she smells like cloves, poppies, and musk.

Tess takes baths a lot, twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, so she smells like whatever soap she's using that day. Her soap is all natural too so it'll smell like fruits, her favorite scent is Snapevine Watermelon followed by Skethyl Berry. If she's trying to be romantic or flirty she might put on some Goldenbark Apple perfume.

It may surprise some to find that Methil does not reek of rot and decaying flesh as his broken body might suggest. No, instead he smells of a mid-Winter's day where the ground is frozen with an iced over snow and the bark of the trees awaken stiff with frost. In fact, his scent may arouse comfort in those who find solace in the white, empty tundra; though most are too perturbed by the Gnome's appearance and sarcastic demeanor to allow themselves close enough for a worthwhile whiff.

(( Behold, the typical aromas of my remaining characters who aren't Lisa! Well, the ones on my active account, at least.
I think that about covers it. I'm not forgetting anyone, am I? Oh, wait ... right.
Aktarin Shadowsong:
Aktarin Shadowsong: Honeysuckle and orange blossoms. It's a sachet mixture she keeps in her linens that a lover created for her very long ago. She liked the mixture so much that she has managed to figure out ways that most of her things smell of it, as does she. As the Nightsabre halls have always had sunken tubs for washing off those pesky gory moments, she's pretty darn clean. Everyone needs to soak in druid-made hot springs after a long day of battles.
Mlakazar of Telaar: Lye soap, armour polish, and old blood. She's a pretty darned good clean righteous Vindicator, but it gets up under the fingernails sometimes and there's no scrubby brushes around.
Samai Ferlska: A spring thunderstorm, rain, electricity, wet earth, damp dog. She really doesn't smell like a humanoid most of the time. Heck, she doesn't think like a humanoid most of the time either.
Gyrithrea Nightwing: There's a warm musky spicy scent raptors (birds, not wussy dinos) have. She shares it. She smells of feathers and that peculiar bird scent when she smells of anything at all that isn't naturally camouflaged. More often than not, she doesn't stand out nasally in any way but that bird one, and you'd have to be pretty close to smell it.
Ta'Srith Snowsinger: Harsh chemicals, explosives, blood and the acrid biting tang of arcane energy. She's fastidious, but only during experiments.
Ythgar Vinguld: Ythgar has a spicy, musky scent about him. Before his recent restoration it mingled oddly with a very faint scent of rot in a pretty odd way, but lately, spice, and a lingering odour of old smoke. Something about him has a distinct flavour of a male in his aging prime; it's not quite the reek of a lion on the savannah, or a bull rutting, but there's a definite whiff of assured older dominant male. Almost impossible to define or pin down, and by no means enough to offend the nostrils - he bathes constantly since his restoration also, and rather a lot even before it. But it's there.
Erich Shintari: Cheap perfume, not cologne. Cigarettes, overlaying the pong of someone who frankly should bathe a lot more than he does. Stale booze. I expect Belorenei may be fixing some of this in her conversion of him, but as it stands, he smells like the gutter rat raver he tends to be.
and now for the reveal...
Balla Fasséké Kouyaté: (Come on, if you didn't know it was me by now..) He smells of nutmeg, palm oil, with a little bite from the anise seeds he sometimes chews. That's on a good day. A lot of the time, however, he smells of sex, blood and sweat. In large, large doses. He's damn proud of enjoying life to the fullest and between his bed/the battlefield/a hammock/an alley and the nearest bath, he's gonna leave a nostril clenching trail.
Family man; His patience tried

(( Dwayberry: She's an alchemist as well, so I see her smelling like chemicals and flowers.
Aladiana: Sometimes she smells like fire, coal, armor oil, anything associated with blacksmithing. Mostly though "clean" comes to mind. Nothing really flowery, which is amusing since Nuul's nickname for her is "Flower" :P
Aurry: Flowers, dew, sunshine. A spring like smell, fresh..
Breangwen: The forest for sure.
Kooriia: Mostly heavy perfume with an under smell of alcohol or something smokey.))
I believe it was Scartaris
I believe it was Scartaris (forgive me if I'm wrong!) who once asserted that Artie carried the scent of "mint and rosewater". Maybe because it came through the eyes of another and was such a perceptive interpretation of her character, but it always seemed perfect for her.
Ineesa smells first of the outdoors (that odd, fresh scent that follows you after you've been out in cool weather among trees or near water for some time), then of wood/candle smoke, then of inscense. At times she might also smell like she's been cooking.
Tavlo/Tavvy has layers of scent to her - the metal/mail/leather of her armor (but that gets taken off); a deeply herblike scent, like fresh-cut sage (that usually comes off with her clothes, yet clings to her hair); a sheen of persperation mixed with oil on her skin, like extra-virgin olive oil with a bitter hint; and then underneath it all, or fresh out of a bath, she just smells like "person". That sort of warm, comforting, natural scent that clings to linens and pillowcases and makes you want to curl up with them.
Meep smells like goat cheese, if you get too close.
Every now and then a character's scent seems important enough to get into an RSP. I think Tavlo's herb scent was in hers for a while. It's more likely to come up in RP itself: Cassie often takes Tavlo's shirts when she's going away; Artie carries around a little vial which is presumably a mint and rosewater concoction.

Theryl generally smells
Theryl generally smells like sweat, leather, horse, and oil (and frequently of blood and gore). She's been bathing more regularly of late, blame Ythgar for that.
Belmilia smells of lavender with a hint of fel and whatever alchemical experiment she's been working on.
Theraesia smells like a cleaner version of Theryl with the addition of a subtlely flowery perfume when she's dressed up.

Lies, Razyel smells like troll sweat
Sweaty Bananas
Zyjiin's scent is is usually one of sweat and Tel'Abim bananas. It never comes across quite as strong as other trolls. given his liberal applications of Abolish Disease.
He has spent a lot of time around the undead(of both friendly and hostile variety) and very quickly became aware of the effect one's scent could have on those around him. When around his own kin and people he doesn't even give a thought to what he smells like, as it's all part of his identity, just as can be perceived by any other sense. When interacting with the more delicate races(or those a more restrictive list of 'welcome scents') he's adopted the habit of bathing infrequently, and has even been known to clean his teeth occasionally.
Great topic, Lisa! I think
Great topic, Lisa! I think about smells, tastes, and textures all the time in RP! It's such a big part of how we experience the world and people :)
Iloam Blacksong bathes in the evenings with pumpkin spice soap. If he is going out to meet someone he wants to impress for business or pleasure, he will wear cologne. It's all downhill from there! Throughout the day he gets more pungent with the scents of whatever he is doing (sailing = sea salt, treasure hunting = jungle musk, killin peeps = blood, etc).
His default smell: scotch whiskey, bloodthissle cigarettes (smells like clove cigarettes: strong cinnamon odour), old warm leather, blood, and quite often, sex/spunk.
Very recently he has been carrying around the slight whiff of Troll.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Szeharia/Belorenei likely
Szeharia/Belorenei likely smells of money. A lot of it. Enough to keep the stench of the Plagueworks at bay.
Darlain heavily grooms
Darlain heavily grooms herself once every three days she's not heavily adventuring (don't worry, if she's near undead, she's gonna clean herself). She usually uses a honey based perfume to give her a very sweet scent, but these days this is often masked by baby vomit and dwarven musk.
Gyvin Talenis has spent the
Gyvin Talenis has spent the last year on the Scourge front, and as a result tends to smell like his armor: oily and metallic with a whiff of gore that won't go away no matter how hard he scrubs. However, he tries to bathe daily when the opportunity presents itself (usually when on leave to visit his wife), and ends up smelling faintly of oatmeal when clean.
Nalathas Dawnfire, on the other hand, hasn't bathed in months, but manages to stay relatively presentable thanks to, well, magic. (It's not cheating if you're an arcanist!) The almost antiseptic scent left behind by the arcane cleansing hides whatever he would otherwise smell like, and is hidden in turn by the acrid odor of felfire clinging to his robes. His imp, Volnam, reeks of sulfur when not out of phase, which is a thankfully rare occurence when violence isn't called for.
Athya all too often smells like the insides of the last thing she killed. She bathes before special occasions, such as entering cities and speaking to people she doesn't intend to stab, at which point she tends to smell like musk and cured leather.
Lexander Derrin takes the same approach Nalathas does to bathing, but keeps a small bag of potpourri on a cord around his neck to ward off any residual scent of decomposition. The end result is something like a mixture of dusty roads and oranges.
Hophlock Deeplore almost always smells like old leather-bound books and ink, even with hygiene habits best described as obsessive. He also apparently smells like something dogs don't like, though he's clueless as to what that might be.
Lazhira smells like the unwashed near-animal she is. On the plus side, she doesn't actually smell like she's rotting, possibly due to her ghoulish metabolism keeping the remainder of her flesh "healthy."
I fukken smell like rum and
I fukken smell like rum and blueberries.
I fukken love blueberries, s'alright?
Reshka doesn't smell
Reshka doesn't smell good. Usualy when in the field she probably hasn't bathed in a couple of days and has been sweating. Dirt and if shes on the front lines or the like she probably also smells of rotting blood thats still sticking to her.
Even when she is in a more friendly setting she is a more tribal sort. Sure, every other day or so she might rinse herself in water or scrub off blood or dirt but she doesn't use soap, any sort of perfume or the like. She has a musky smell to her even when in a city.
Daenyra smells of cool
Daenyra smells of cool autumn leaves. An earthy smell, with a hint of mint, though in death the scent is very, very faint.
Eridah: Breast milk and
Eridah: Breast milk and dirty diapers most days, fallen leaves and oiled leather if she's out hunting.
Fanshen: Sandalwood (or the Azerothian equivalent) and Rose.
Yuta: Like new kittens and raw meat or fresh blood.
Xistlah (and Xistlah): Musk and Cloves.
Vohlash: Chocolate Chip Cookies with an undertone of Bitter Pine from her fel.
Zahaith: Sex with a hint of rotten fruit.
Aelu: Talcum Powder, Sage and Sweat.
Mizaezel: Purfume, Patchouli (or the Azerothian equivalent) and other incenses.
Ooras: Frankincense, Myrh and fine wine.
Alenei and Soryne
On a good day/after a bath:
Alenei smells like soap and more soap, with a hint of rosemary. And more soap.
Soryne smells like anise seed and cloves.
On a bad day:
Alenei smells like blood and sweaty fur and wet rawhide.
Soryne smells like dust and dirt. She doesn't smell like blood anymore- no more fieldwork for this girl.

Various scented oils,
What a fun topic...
Various scented oils, crimson lotus being her favorite choice, usually masking the smell of pages within old tomes, the dampness of crypts and possibly whatever fungi grows within, enchanting dusts if they have scents since she works with them quite frequently & then whatever bodily fluids (usually brain matter from the mind blasting/flaying) that might squit out at her during battles. Nvm armor repairs...those dry cleaning bills are a killah!

Taneel, if he's in
Taneel, if he's in Icecrown, smells of death, blood, purge, bile, sweat, and associated Scourge nastiness.
In Stormwind, he's generally taken a bath and not had time to obtain any particular scent during the brief time before heading back to Icecrown.
As with most things,
As with most things, Rethelia hopes to come off neutrally (or blandly). She bathes often with unscented soap. After a long day of study, she probably carries the smell of pounce, pigment, and dust. After an expidition of some kind- earth and exertion.
Fear.
Fear.
Kharris uses a Purple Lotus
Kharris uses a Purple Lotus oil perfume usually, but can also probably smell like her work environments--so "club scene" scents of alcohol and sweat and too much perfume after work.
My Other Characters:
Daevra: Jeweler's Polish, mineral dust, and the tang of arcane magic.
Lormar: Goes out of his way to be as neutral as possible, so bathes every couple days, keeps his clothes in a mostly clean condition (unless there's a good reason not to bother), doesn't use anything scented. Sharp noses may catch the whiff of particular poisons now and again. On many days, he's got the smell of someone who tans and works animal hides clinging to him.
Aerella: Worgs, good working outdoor sweat, and that mown grass smell.
Alynore: Dust and magic residue reminiscent of Draenor, sweat and engineering oils and powders.
Lilane: Very expensive perfume and hair pomades, and money. Maybe a slight twinge of fel for those with sharp perceptions.
Linnadia: Bathes frequently (especially when she's been visiting Undercity, ugh!), so soap and minty oils. May also have the tang of magic dusts about her at times.
Sweat and forge-soot are
Sweat and forge-soot are predominant most of the time.
There's a pungent, noxious odor about his current battle-armor which even repeated cleansings with the Light have failed to remove.

I am not sure what they smell like, I can just say where Shrilinda cleanses herself.
Moonwells. Especially ones off the beaten path. Whe I just want to get away from it all and take a nice serene soak... Moonwell. This also is in line with Shrilinda's love of nearly everything Night Elvish.
Waterfalls. But not just any waterfall will do. Her favorites are the ones in Wailing Caverns.
When a relaxing swim is called for, Shril will head to either Winterspring or back in time to Southshore. Who cares what those Bronze Dragons are up to. The waters off Southshore back in the day are crisp and clean.
For all the other times, Im sure the scent about her is a mix of cooked fish and spices as she carries alot of both with her at all times.
Cynriah's RSP states that
Cynriah's RSP states that she smells faintly of leather and earth... unless she's wearing her armor, in which case she smells a LOT like leather and earth. I've had several people sniff her around Dalaran with differing results; druids and hunters seem to like it while cloth-wearers find it various degrees of offensive.
Kariis has a natural l'eau
Kariis has a natural l'eau du Draenei that he wears due to the frequency of the exercises and katas he performs in the study of his beloved elements. He's a young buck, for a Draenei, and even his sweat has a certain bright, vigorous crispness to it, with a salt tang that might remind some of the ocean.

Raenne doesn't really have a smell that is exuded or smellable by others around her. She's impeccably clean and fastidious.
Prikha smells like a flower garden. A ribbon tied around her wrist smells overwhelmingly like troll flesh and blasting powder, though.

Moriurya --She has a very floral wood scent with a touch of greenery. It would remind people of a garden that had just felt rain and so was alive with the many differents scents it holds. The strongest smells are like autumn when stepping on a crisp fallen leaf. She bathes daily, though it is often in a freshwater creek and so has that clear cold water smell just after washing.
Shaleigh --Tiger basil, thyme, moss, and a hint of leather due to her armor that she usually wears and often is working on. Their is a slight touch of parchment and old scrolls thanks to her almost constant habit of falling asleep in deep research. She bathes often and it is usually in a hotspring near her guild hall. Just after bathing she would smell more like lotus and magnolia due to the flowers that grow around the spring, though since her rooms are covered in it's own herb garden, the smell of the spring can't linger long.
Dimetri Blaze --There is the slight touch of alcoholic scent with coffee strongly overtop. He bathes often, but almost never without company. He tries to spice things up with his bath-oils being hazelnut, almond, ginger, and expresso. To those who can smell more, they sense a strong arcane with a touch of fel.
