Don't worry!  You'll eventually get it back with the worst scenario being the "care package" instead of your gear which is a few thousand gold a day, and some emblems.  And even if you get that, we'll get you some gear!

And I'd like to add that credit should go to Lisa, not me, since it was Lisa who pointed out the odd behaviour with Pugnose the character.  I only was the messenger.  

Some of us were noticing the appearance and non-communication, though the hacker did try to whisper one of Cerwis' newer alts and it was pretty clearly not you.

Blizzard will restore anything you lose, or as Demolay said, you can choose the "care package" for faster service. The same thing happened to Sabene recently, and the worst damage done was that she was jumped several levels (but they caught her before the big 80 ding).

 Veri and I were fearing the worst as well, Pug, when there was no cheerful responses to our hellos!  I hope you get it straightened out with minimal fuss.

Yar, I thought something was a little fishy when I logged on and saw Pug in the Meddler channel...at 6:30 AM EST.  (During the week, I usually level a bit before heading off to work since I can't guarantee playtime in the evening >.> ) I had never seen him on that early before!

I'm sorry you were hacked. I know how it feels...you should be able to get your characters back, at the very least. When Andri and Rhia were restored back in BC, I couldn't get any of my gear or gold back but all the friendly folks we have around here got Andri geared up in a flash and sent Rhia awesome leveling gear.

Yeah the whispers I got were great and very un-pug like. I really wished I could have logged those, they were interesting.

I've been in groups twice with Pugnose in the last few days and cut a whack of gems for him.  I didn't know you before but you're everywheres now.  So sorry to hear, I will /bonk you next time I see you.

Please don't anyone let on to dopple Pug that you know he's a stolen account. I don't want the thief to panic and start liquidating the character. Some of my original gear is still on him. Thanks!

Even if the character is deleted, it can be restored. Leshana was deleted when he got hacked, but was restored to as close to what Blizzard could get to him when the account was compromised. Don't worry about restoring Pug's gear and even him when this is over. The restore team's pretty good about it.

Zuelaji got hacked during the same time frame, and stayed in Wintergrasp at lvl 70. What is it with them and Wintergrasp? And how are they hacking really old accounts that haven't been used in awhile?
